COMPLETE FIRE!!! I got so many things for $300... 13 window alarms, 2 fire alarms, 3 door alarms, the panel (which is amazing in itself), 2 motion detectors, 3 key fobs to activate and deactivate the system, 2 panic buttons, a free camera which saved my ass with the flood by telling me “abnormal sound” and my NEW favorite, the freeze/flood alarm. Yep! I just got an alert my basement was flooding because something was clogging the utility sink and it spilled over..I wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for the free camera...I didn’t want the live monitoring but guess what?! I’m getting it as we speak...because I would have known exactly what was causing the alarm that second with a phone call and the smartphone app. I’m kicking myself in the ass for not getting it! I mean..$20 a month? You cannot best it! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Cove to ANYONE!!!
Great option with Great Featues
First, I contacted ADT to have my house wired the same way my business is wired: hard wired and the sensors are barely visible as all the wiring runs in the walls. When I got the quote from ADT and it was thousands of dollars and they use the same stick on sensors as Cove (not hard wired), it was an easy choice.
I got more types of sensors like glass breaks and water leak detection for a fraction of the cost of ADT. To top it all off, ADT wanted 2 times the money a month for monitoring. Just wasn't worth it.
So now that the Cove system is up and running, it looks great and has soothing sounds / voice options, not annoying like other systems I use in other locations. Also, I didn't remember setting up a safeword and I contacted Reyna for help and it was great customer service. She also sent me my certificate and it got me a 10% discount on my homeowners insurance! By the way, I DID in fact setup a safeword apparently when I was signing up as only I could have come up with that once they told me what it was!
The only things I wish were better are these: I would like to have an option for a second panel to place in a different location on the other side of the house. Currently, the system is limited to one main panel. The other thing is I can't change the names of the sensors now that they are installed to a custom name like "office main window" or "guest room window 1" or "dining room door" etc. You have to pick generic names and they don't all fit my needs. It would be great to have more freedom to change names to custom names. I think when signing up they give you a chance to type things in but the order shipped (same day!) before I came back to fill that part in so that was faster than expected. Just really wish I could change those names as it's so satisfying to hear "*ding*ding kitchen door open" and have it be the actual kitchen door vs a generic "window 1 open" in other rooms where there is not a suitable sensor name option.
All in all, I'm happy with the system and the customer service. The remotes work great and it's a cool upgrade over my other systems that require me to key in the pass code. Oh speaking of which, it's very cool that you get a regular pass code and a hostage pass code that you can enter to disarm the system but secretly send a distress signal to send the police. Cool feature, hope to never need it.
Anyway, going to see how the first year goes and if they make any updates like the second panel and custom names for sensors, I would consider switching my other properties over to Cove. So far so good though. Thank you guys!
Great system, great value
It’s a great system and easy to set up and use. I feel much safer at home and I have peace of mind while I’m away. I love that I can turn on and off the alarm from my phone.
I dad have some issues with the the fob remote, but was sent a replacement that’s been working fine for the past couple of months. I also had some issues with responding to an alarm while away from my house. If you don’t type in the code correctly, they call your backup person. If that person doesn’t answer, they send the police. I’d much rather get a phone call to the primary number before dispatching the police. **Edit: I have spoken with Cove and this has been corrected**
All in all, this is a great system and is a great value. I’d certainly recommend it to anyone!
Cove Security, Excellent company, great product and fantastic service
Cover Security is an excellent company in many ways. They have a great product that is of excellent quality. It's equal to or exceeds National Brand alarm companies products. We had a national brand alarm company for years and hated their customer service. We careful compared equipment and customer reviews before making the decision to switch to Cove. We are so happy we switched. We have two systems, one for our main home and a second system for our cabin retreat.
Installation was a breeze. System walk you through the installation and if you have an issue, as we did with one stubborn sensor, they are there to help, with a happy pleasant attitude. In fact after our sensor issue was resolved the Tech stayed insisted to stay on the phone while we finished the install to make sure no other issues. No thats service.
There customer service is is among the best if not the not best. Everyone is so pleasant to deal with and bends over backwards to make sure things are correct.
We are extremely happy with Cove Security, their products and especially their service.

Their customer service is amazing! They do warn in the automated system that there might be a long wait to reach someone and they give an option for a call back so you don't have to wait on hold. I didn't choose that option BUT the hold time was super short so it wasn't a problem at all. But i really do like that option if you don't have time to stare blankly at your phone waiting on someone to answer.
The representative i spoke with Chase, was incredibly professional and he not only helped with that i needed but also waited on the line to make sure the problem was actually solved so i didn't have to call back if it didn't work the first time. Not only that but he anticipated needs that i didn't even think to ask about and made sure i had everything solved beyond my expectations. Even with all the extra questions i had and help he offered the call, including hold time took less than 10 minutes in total!
To be honest i was thinking about switching companies before i called because of the lack of online resources but after the call with Chase i look forward to staying with Cove for a long time. Especially after he told me they are expanding their online resources.

I found Cove's setup procedure easy to follow and was able to get the system up and running during this past weekend over the course of an afternoon. I am quite impressed with their customer service. I've talked to them several times and each time I called, a support person came on quickly. Everybody I spoke with knew the product very well. They were cheerful (in a way that strongly suggested how well they're treated by management). I'm an electronics engineer by profession, and I'll have to say that I am quite impressed with the system design. It's obvious how much care and thought went into this product. They've built a lot of flexibility into their alarm system.The app works very well on my iPhone and I can quickly see the status of all entry points in my house and look at a running history of all previous alarm events. Their window, door sensors, motion detectors, glass break detectors, flood & freeze detectors and smoke detectors all connect to their main panel using a cell carrier (unlike some competitors, which use either their own limited range wireless network built into their panel or the existing house wifi network, which may have pre-existing performance--and therefore reliability issues). In learning the system the first week, I inadvertently set off the alarm. The monitoring station called me literally seconds after I entered my code into the panel to disarm the alarm. It was quite an impressive short reaction time by them. The system gives me confidence that I can count on it working correctly when we're asleep or away from the house. Great job, Cove!

My experience with Cove is off to a fabulous start! When I realized my system would arrive while I was out of town I contacted customer service to see if the package could be held until my return. Service rep Desiree went above and beyond- checking with FedEx twice a day in an effort to facilitate the pickup of the package once we discovered that it had been delivered. She kept in close contact with me, making sure everything was taken care of And that I had everything I needed. She also adjusted the billing cycle to reflect the date I installed the product. She went out of her way to personally follow up again and again until she was absolutely certain the situation had been completed to my satisfaction. Desiree is a shining example of what customer could- and should be: a caring and engaged representative who is personally invested in the customer’s needs and satisfaction. Truly the easiest system I have ever set up and used and I've had many. Most systems say they are user friendly but this one is and we love it. Had a small problem with one of the tests that was easily solved with a phone call on a Sunday night. Buy one you will love it
